Adamas Aion began with a simple idea: I wanted to create a piece for myself.
Like many people, I had always admired beautiful jewelry, but I found myself wanting more control over the process—choosing the diamond, finding the best value, deciding on the setting, and creating something that actually felt personal.
With an educational background in sustainability, lab-grown diamonds were a natural choice for me. I was fascinated by the fact that they are chemically, physically, and optically the same as mined diamonds—real diamonds created with the same carbon crystal structure and brilliance people have admired for generations. The difference is simply their origin. Instead of forming underground over billions of years, lab-grown diamonds are created using advanced technology that replicates the natural growing process. For me, it felt like a modern approach that aligned with both innovation and accessibility, while still delivering the beauty, quality, and luxury experience I was looking for.
At first, the idea of sourcing a loose diamond and working with a local jeweler felt intimidating. I assumed jewelers might not want to work with outside stones or custom ideas. Instead, I found the experience surprisingly welcoming. My local jeweler was kind, helpful, and completely open to bringing the vision to life.
The first piece was a pink oval diamond pendant. Not long after, I created another piece—a white marquise pendant. I loved not only the final result, but the entire process behind it. There was something incredibly rewarding about being involved in every step.
As friends began asking questions about how I did it, I realized how many people were curious about creating jewelry for themselves, but simply didn’t know where to start.
That led to a bigger question:
Why should someone have to wait for an engagement or the next milestone to own a beautiful diamond?
Why not celebrate yourself now? Why not create something personal, intentional, and uniquely yours—whether that’s a classic white diamond, a colored stone, or a custom piece that reflects your own style?
I realized this approach could also create opportunities for couples looking for a smarter, more flexible way to design engagement jewelry without the traditional markup structure.
